â‘¢ Slowly and firmly breathe in as you bring your arms back down. This makes one rep. Repeat steps â‘ -â‘¢ for 3-10 reps.
â‘£ Stand up straight again, and this time, clasp your hands in front of your chest.
⑤ Stretch your arms out in front of you, curl your back, and breathe in slowly and firmly.
â‘¥ Slowly and firmly breathe out as you bring your arms back in. This makes one rep. Repeat steps â‘£-â‘¥ for 3-10 reps.
Steps â‘ -â‘¥ make one set. Do three sets a day: morning, afternoon, and evening. If it feels difficult, do three reps, and if you feel okay with it, go for 10 reps. These stretches should loosen up stiffened muscles that move the lungs (respiratory muscles) and lighten your breathing.
Shoulder Bounce Stretches
Try this if you feel fatigued or short of breath while facing a desk. Slowly and firmly inhale while raising your shoulders, then exhale while rotating your shoulders backward. Do this 3-10 times.
The fact is, when people breathe normally, 40-60% of the air remains incompletely exhaled. We call this "residual air". When breathing become shallow due to insufficient exercise or poor, slouching posture, residual capacity can increase to 70-80%, and you become unable to take in more than a little fresh air. That gives rise to shortness of breath and fatigue.
People who spend a lot of time cooped up in their rooms just playing video games or reading comics develop an image for being gloomy, but actually, another cause is shallow breathing that comes from their posture. The shortness of breath condition also causes palpitations, and the brain detects danger to one's life, giving rise to stress and anxiety. This can also be a trigger for negatively applying thinking. All you exam-prepping students and job hunters should bear this in mind.
