Other names: ティーカップ, 茶杯
A cup traditionally used to hold tea and other hot beverages. They're typically short and made of ceramic, with a rounded base and a handle. They're often depicted alongside saucers, teapots, and tea sets.
In Japan, tea-drinking may be done with yunomi: these are cylindrical cups without handles. And a chawan is a bowl-shaped cup without handles, found in East Asia.
In China, a traditional cup used for tea-drinking - often seen with a lid - is a gaiwan.
