Other names: バッジ, 徽章
An emblem traditionally used to signify status, rank, membership, affiliation, etc, although nowadays some people use them to display their interests or hobbies. Usually made of plastic, metal, or cloth. An example is a police badge.
Badges created for fashion purposes or campaigning are called button badges.
