The 2025 Japan Cup was certainly a race for the history books as Calandagan, the sole runner from abroad, won the race, breaking both the 20 year-old drought and Almond Eye's race record. Still, he finished only a head in front of Masquerade Ball.
Danon Decile finished 3rd, Croix du Nord finished 4th.
A special mention goes to Admire Terra, who technically finished a neck ahead of Calandagan and Masquerade Ball, but he knocked off his jockey at the start of the race, so it doesn't really count.
