July 30th is Umeboshi Day! According to legend, eating umeboshi will ward off (7) misfortune (30), so this day was established!

Umeboshi has antibacterial and fatigue-relieving properties, so people in the past carried it with them as medicine when traveling, which is said to be the origin of the saying that "difficulties will go away."
