Gyoubu-danuki Inugami-Gyoubu, also known as Gyoubu-danuki (rendaku) was a powerful tanuki in Iyo province. A character from Nurarihyon no Mago is his son.

○ Beastman type monster which has the characteristics of a raccoon dog. Said to be of a similar rank as the Inari, it uses all kinds of tricks such as transformation and illusion to deceive humans. They have a special art in taking human form, when they change not only their appearance, but also their scent and magical presence, to that of a human, which would be enough to keep heroes skilled in magic and even monsters from noticing their true form. Having a high level of intelligence and talents in business, they often live on merchandise and usury, and master the power of human society: wealth. They're cheerful on first glance, but are cunning in nature; wielding the art of transformation and the power of wealth, many of the Gyoubu Danuki enter the pillars of human society in pursuit of human males and the society itself.

When they lay their paws on a human male, they use their wealth, art of negotiation and stratagems to takeover human lands and stores, sometimes enslaving the whole family, thus they take not only the male, but also his family and social status altogether. Sometimes they take forcibly vicious measures, tricking men into debt with illusion and talking skills, which often ends with the man paying his debts with himself. By obtaining wealth and social status, they gain men as their own belongings. Once a man has sex with one of them, they fall for her 'Incarnation of Lust' and her tricks in dealing with people, thus entrusting everything, from his wealth to his heart, to her. Though their vicious doings, they don't destroy humanity in order to fill their own pockets. Their motives for taking over human society is to create an environment in which monsters and human males may live lewd lives happily ever after. For example, they develop taken-over land to monster-friendly territories, and make businesses grow with their talents. The poor families they possess become rich, and the man who paid debt with himself gets both love and wealth from his wife. Due to this, the families and males they have an eye on are promised to prosper, and many see these Tanukis as a symbol of fortune.

Though their main habitat is the Zipangu region, they often travel as merchants, and are seen around the world running stores or peddling. They do a fair trade in their true form, and it's OK to buy their wares in this condition, but when they take a human-form while peddling, they false advertise their wares as 'good for health and beauty', which are actually products that could change human to monster, such as 'the Fruit of Charm' and 'Succubus Elixir'.
