カズマは引きこもり中、父親と衝突が絶えず、一人暮らしはそれをみかねた母親の提案によるものだった。母親はカズマが本来行きたかった高校に落ちて、滑り止めの高校に行きたくないのが引きこもりの原因と考えていたため、高校近くの部屋は借りず、家から近くて安く家具家電が揃ってる物件を借りることにした。家賃は休学で浮いたお金でまかなっている。

While Kazuma was a shut-in, he would always fight with his father, and unable to watch them for any longer, his mother proposed that he live by himself. Since his mother believed the reason Kazuma became a recluse was because he failed to enter the school he originally wanted to go to and didn't want to attend his backup school, she decided that they would rent a cheaper, furnished property closer to home rather than one closer to the school. The rent is covered by the money saved from his absence from school.
