Due to the high transparency level, it gives off a mature, sexy impression. Also suitable for office wear or formal occasions. Because of how thin it is, its heat insulation is low.

Denier is a standard unit of measure for the thread density of a material; the higher the value, the thicker the pantyhose or tights. Different denier measurements offer different levels of heat insulation and transparency. Typically, the legwear is referred to as stockings or pantyhose (sheer) at or below 30 denier, and tights (opaque) above 30 denier. Numerous varieties of pantyhose and tights exist beyond the four introduced here, ranging from much thinner to much thicker and anywhere in between.

Only the knees show through around this thickness. The reduced transparency lends itself to a more solid color and thus a neat and tidy impression. Heat insulation is also much greater at this level; 80 denier or above is recommended for cold weather.

Considerably thick material. Hardly any skin shows through, and the high heat insulation makes the tights extremely warm to wear. Use with care, though, as the greater thickness also has the potential to make the legs and feet appear thicker than they actually are.

Just thin enough for the entire legs to faintly show through. Considered by some accounts to be the most attractive denier to men due to how effective it is at making the legs appear more slender and beautiful.
