The United States Navy ordered for the construction of the Iowa-Class Battleships
The first Iowa-class Battleship was laid down.
USS Iowa BB-61 was launched.
USS Iowa BB-61 was commissioned to the USN.
USS Iowa BB-61 was decommissioned and was put under reserve.
USS Iowa BB-61 was recommissioned for the Korean War.
USS Iowa BB-61 was once again put under reserve after the Korean War.
USS Iowa BB-61 was reactivated for the 600-Ship Navy Program.

USS Iowa BB-61 was struck off the Navy List. She was donated as a museum ship to the Pacific Battleship Center and was docked in the Port of Los Angeles, opening to the public on July 7, 2012.
