After the review, Ashigara met Spee once again while heading from Portsmouth, England to Kiel, Germany.

They greeted one another with gun salutes, and there are photographs showing the two ships cruising alongside one another.

During WW2, Spee damaged a certain ship until it was unable to fire, but Spee was unable to finish off that ship. But in a weird twist of fate,

- that exact ship, the British heavy cruiser, Exeter, was later sunk by the four Myoukou sisters.

Called as a pocket battleship in a foreign land, the armored cruiser/ heavy cruiser had a displacement of 12000 tons.

Ashigara displaced 11000 tons after construction and displaced 13000 tons after her third remodeling, making them roughly on par with one another.

Spee, I got your revenge!
