Thunder Ceases Echoing Kaminaru Sunawachi Koe wo Osamu, one of the "72 climates" of the solar year. This one corresponds to about Sep. 23 - Sep. 27, representing mid-autumn with the cessation of seasonal thunderstorms.
They say my Buddhist sermons are obscure and hard to understand...
Hmmm
Turn
Tell - me, what - is - Higan? The use of katakana and extended final syllable imply (to me) a tone of exaggerated, false interest, like she's purposely reading poorly off a cue card. Not sure if the text conveys that...
Higan originated as Buddhist terminology for "the other...that is, the shore opposite to this one, meaning the next world. In customary usage...referred to the three days before and after the spring and autumnal equinox as "Higan"...became tradition. So why...memorial services for our ancestors? There are various theories...because it sinks in the west, thinking of it as the Western Pure Land...the days when it sinks due west, a connection to the Pure Land...considered connected to memorial services for our ancestors.... Also, Higan is a holiday celebrated exclusively in Japan...regarding which, from time immemorial...
Aah, yeah, that won't fly.
You should approach it via topics close to home.
That should make it easier for your listeners to understand, right?
Hmm...I see.
Might be good to use allegories.
Easily understood, familiar examples...
Okay, right—let's practice!
Why do we have to hold memorials for our ancestors?
Umm, well, if you don't hold memorials, you might be punished...
You mean, we'd be cursed? What would happen then?
Well, there's the case of a so-called site-bound ghost.
She causes waves or sinks ships as pranks.
Using my eating her Fr◯◯che as an excuse... See TN in previous strip.
Clench
...she claimed my abura'age side dish and...
Yes, the fault is mine, but...!
Yo, Madame Object of Worship!
Isn't that example a bit too close to home?
