roy_koopa

A character from the Mario series, he is one of the seven Koopalings that first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. Roy appears in numerous platformers, serving as a world boss in one of the first seven worlds and also appears as a playable character in spin-offs, including Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart Tour.

Like his siblings, Roy uses his shell to attack and can be defeated by jumping on his head three times. He uses ground pounds to stun the player, can climb walls and uses his magic wand to summon magic blasts and purple fireballs. In New Super Mario Bros. U, he no longer has a wand and now uses a giant cannon to fire Bullet Bills. He is also generally regarded as the second most powerful Koopaling after Ludwig.

Roy is depicted as being more brawn than brains and preferring to use brute force, though he is rather quick-witted and still more intelligent than Morton. He is also somewhat of a bully who likes to beat people up for fun and has a thing for acting and looking cool. Like most of the Koopalings, he wears spiked bracelets on each arm and has a mostly yellow skin complexion, as well as a pink head. He is the second largest of his siblings after Morton and has a purple spiked shell, large fangs, wears pink sunglasses and is bald.

He is named after Roy Orbison, a famous rock and roll singer, songwriter and guitarist.
