mmorpg

Short for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Computer Role Playing Games (RPGs) which feature gameplay elements of traditional RPGs, but take place in a persistent online virtual world populated with characters controlled by other human players.

MMORPGs are commonly associated with diehard devotees or socially inept people such as NEETs, due to the amount of time required just to become competent enough to play, and their use as a form of psychological escapism.
