King Dedede is the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land, Kirby's #1 rival, and a recurring antagonist in the Kirby (series) games. Despite being greedy and egotistical, he. He stole all of Dream Land's food and hoarded them at Castle Dedede in Kirby's Dream Land. Dedede isn't complete evil, only a bully pulling pranks; often opting to team up with Kirby in newer installments. His preferred weapon is a wooden hammer, but he can also puff up and inhale like Kirby. Playable in the Super Smash Bros. series, starting with Brawl.

In Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, the tyrannical King Dedede is the primary antagonist. Unknowningly manipulated by eNeMeE, he receives monsters — not all of which are evil — from the Monster Delivery System (featured in the background of his arena in Kirby: Squeak Squad) he ordered from the intergalactic Night Mare Enterprises in attempt to rout Kirby, along with his snail sidekick and punching bag named Escargon.
