Designs of the American flag that are no longer in use.

As new states are incorporated into the United States, a star is customarily added to the flag. The last time in which this was done was in July 1960 with the admittance of Hawaii to the US, and the number of stars on the flag was increased to 50.

This tag is for American flags that have less than 50 stars, due to being from a time before the US had 50 states. This tag does not cover American flags with less than 50 stars due to artistic error or stylistic representation.
