Extreme skinniness, characterized by a complete lack of body fat and visible bones beneath the skin. Possible causes include starvation, malnourishment, disease, eating disorders, or a stylistic device used to show a character's extreme exhaustion.

For naturally thin bodies, see skinny. Emaciated is for unnatural levels of skinniness.
