A mysterious fruit that grants unique Devil Fruit powers at the expense of the ability to swim in the world of One Piece. They are typically covered in swirly lines and they all taste awful.

They come in three basic types: Paramecia, the most common, which grant a vast array of "superhuman" abilities; Zoan, which grant the power to transform into animals; and Logia, the rarest and most powerful, which grant the power to transform into a natural element.

Their powers are unique and only one user of the same power exists at the same time. Eating more than one fruit is considered fatal, thus no one can have more than one power (the only exception being Marshall D. Teach for some unknown reason). The fruits "respawn" in a regular fruit after the user dies.
