cut-away

A visual technique where a section of an object, building, vehicle, or structure appears to have been removed or made transparent, allowing the viewer to see the interior or inner workings that would normally be hidden.

This technique is commonly used in technical illustrations, architectural drawings, and instructional diagrams. In artwork, it can be used to show characters inside buildings, vehicles, or other enclosed spaces, or to reveal the internal mechanisms of objects or creatures.
