cherub

An angelic creature usually depicted as a chubby male child, usually naked and very often with angel wings.

In traditional Christian mythology, a cherub (plural cherubim) is a high-ranking angel described with varying roles and physical appearances, but usually depicted as a terrifying biblically accurate angel rather than as a child. The baby angel now called a cherub was traditionally called a "putto".

A cherub should not to be confused with a cupid, who is armed with a bow and "love-arrows".
