Batibat, the Lucid Tree 🌳

Image Description

Foremothers of Dreammancy, Batibat is a collective of consciousness brought about by seeping the unconscious. They are the first of lucid dreamers drawing elden memories for sustenance.

For ages, Batibat would weed the traumatic memories of whoever wished to sleep under their shade. These creatures would bear the ache so that people could begin to heal.

But when men dared to tamper with these timbers, a vengeful hivemind would sow terror in their nightmares. A Batibat would take root in their household, above the unaware, leaving them in eternal slumber until they become nourishment for the birth of a new Lucid Tree.

Recollection of those who erred their woods lives still, vividly. But they chose to outgrow the wounds, nonetheless. Today, these trees would trade stories and magic with budding dreammancers seeking untold history. Beneath their wise branches, they would nurture those who desire to remember while offering solace to souls who seek to forget.
