Even though it's skewer day, grilled chicken skewers (yakitori) are not allowed! (It has the word "bird" in it!)

This commemorative day was established to encourage people to enjoy eating skewered foods that can easily be eaten with one hand, and the date (9/4) is a play on the word "skewer" in Japanese (kushi) sounding like 9 (ku) and 4 (shi)!

To eradicate chicken skewers, Lorelei Mystia runs a lamprey eel stand

I'll serve you some lamprey eel skewers, so please eat and enjoy them!

Eight-eyed eel (lamprey) are completely different creatures than regular eels. It has a crunchy texture and a unique flavor.

I want more skewers

Skewers! Skewers!
