Ancient City exists within Gensoukyou's subterranean world.

It used to be a part of Hell, but with the slimming of Hell, it became an abandoned land.

The separation of Ancient City and Hell meant exchanging restraint for freedom to the youkai living there, therefore many expressed their support.

However, there were places that were Hell's facilities, in which many souls and evil spirits that could not rest in peace still remained.
