優れた速力を以て敵の迎撃を振り切りつつ低空に侵入し、高貫通力の砲にて敵車両を攻撃し離脱するという構想のもと開発された。
機首下部にはドイツから輸入したBK 3,7機関砲1門と、20mmホ-5機関砲が集中配置されている。
