The 2nd of January is
The Day of the First Dream of the Year!
The first dream of the year is said to foretell someone's luck on that year. Dreaming with things like Mount Fuji, hawks, or eggplants is said to be particularly lucky.
They say that, in order to have a good dream as the first of the year, it's good to put a picture of the Seven Lucky Gods and the Takarabune underneath your pillow. They also say that on the back of that picture, you should also write the 漠 kanji (the inspiration behind Doremi)!
The 漠 kanji may be a typo: that kanji usually means something like "vague", "obscure", or "vast". The kanji used for the creature that was Doremi's inspiration (the baku) is 獏. Both characters are written very similarly and can be read the same.I wonder what sort of first dream should I show you...Youmu-chan, who had a bad dream the previous dayI'm begging youPlease give me a good first dream-myon...!
