All those praying for travelers and their luggage, on road and on river. All those wishing their loved ones a peaceful voyage at sea.The outcast man who buried a thousand chickens and raised them a 3-shaku gravestone to heal someone's throat. The village which decided that its plague of whooping cough was a punishment for eating chicken, and did not do so for many ages. The farmers who wished for successful irrigation and equal distribution of water. The general who thanked the god for his success vanquishing the kishin and held a service upon his return. The people who banned even the keeping of chicken for fear of disasters and illness. Those who would bury chicken eggs under shrines as an offering for healing. Those who presented plaques of chickens as thanks for their children's recovery.
