Get a chance
Take a chanceUโumm...In other words: your victory in SoulCalibur depends on how many opportunities you can create for yourselfGuarding is part of that, right? I wanna practice!Sorry, I have to make dinner...Eh?Attacks can be broadly divided into highs, mids and lows based on the way they hit
Please choose the best kind of attack to use wisely depending on your opponent's guard stance
Highs: can be blocked with standing guard and completely miss characters in crouch guard stateMids: cannot be blocked with crouch guard, but can be blocked with standing guardLows: cannot be blocked with standing guard, but can be blocked with crouch guard
Throws can be divided into normal throws (such as ๐ฐ + ๐ถ or ๐ฑ + ๐ถ) and crouch throws. The first kind is effective against standing opponents and the second is effective against crouching opponents. It's also possible to escape throws by pressing ๐ฐ or ๐ฑ when the opponent tries to grab you (throw escape)

Ohโ
Eekโ
Let's see which possible result of your attack leads to new opportunities
You attack
More opportunities follow
You hit the enemy
Yaaay
You are free to decide if you want to attack or move
Gyah
You were guarded against
You've lost your opportunity
You have to work to regain the initiative by guarding against or dodging your opponent's strikes
Hmm, so I create opportunities when I hit the enemy or when I guard against their attacks, I see
That's right
There's more that you can do to increase your number of opportunities
Low-hitting attacks cannot be blocked in standing guard
Grrah!
Uh
You can also tackle opponents in standing guard with throws
You can increase your chances a lot if you just add those two into the mix
For example... by using low attacks when your enemy is trying to guard against you or by using a throw after you've managed to hit the enemy
All right! I'll create lots of opportunities
that'll allow me to win!
