This 15-year-old girl's measurements are modeled after the body of the average 15-year-old. The values agree closely to the average values for girls age 14 to 18 used in this book. For ages 16.5 ± 1, average body measurements and their standard deviation follow:

Height: 158 ± 5 cm Weight: 52 ± 7 kg Bust: 82 ± 6 cm Waist: 65 ± 5 cm Hip: 90 ± 5 cm Underbust: 71 ± 5 cm Cup Size: 11 ± 2.8 cm BMI: 21 ± 2.5 Data from "Japanese Anthropometric Database 1992–1994"

15 is the age at which growth is complete. Final height is attained by age 14.4 ± 0.8 [*1]. The average height of a 15-year-old is 99% that of a 20 to 24-year-old (15: 157.2 cm/20-24: 158.2 cm) and the average BWH measurements of 15-year-olds are 99%, 101%, and 99% of those of 20 to 24-year-olds, respectively. The difference between top bust and underbust, or breast size, of a 15-year-old is also 99% that of an adult. The body of a 15-year-old is that of an adult; it will not grow much further. Conversely, what is the difference between this fully matured body and the adolescent body of a 12-year-old? Naturally, the 15-year-old is taller, heavier, and has larger BWH and cup sizes. But what about other body characteristics such as proportions and BMI? The BMI of 12-year-olds is lower: the average BMI of a 12-year-old is 18.7 versus 20.6 for a 15-year-old. W/H ratio (waist ÷ hip) in 12-year-olds is 0.75 versus 0.73 in 15-year-olds. Bust-to-height ratio (chest circumference ÷ height) in 12-year-olds is 0.49, and 0.52 in 15-year-olds. In other words, adult women have a "fuller", more "hourglass" figure.
