Drawing themed after the historical events of the Mononobe clan. Behind Futo is a window in the shape of the top of the Omiwa Shrine's roof, and the scenery outside is the burning Sakurai-ji, with a lantern inscribed with "Sekenge" (one of the ten names of the Buddha, Sanskrit lokavid, 'world-knower'. The world can be divided into two: the mundane loka and the transcendent lokottara.) [Futo becoming a shikaisen is perhaps like entering lokottara? Though she used Taoist methods, perhaps there is still some ground to be shared with Buddhism?] Sakurai-ji represents Buddhism, which was introduced to Japan, and as the Mononobe clan opposed Buddhism they burnt down many temples, including Sakurai-ji. This corresponds to Futo's spellcards Blaze Sign "Blazing Winds of Haibutsu" and Blaze Sign "Sakuraiji in Flames". Underneath Futo are the remains of fallen soldiers and burnt banners, representing the Soga-Mononobe conflict. Futo's inspiration Futsuhime is thought by some to be the mastermind of the war as she came from the Mononobe clan and became with the Soga clan. Futo's gaze is vacant as she wishes to flee from the war. Between burning temples and war, destruction and loss of life is perhaps originally not Futo's ability.
