I decided on the joke after watching "Kamakura-dono" yesterday. It was good...
[tn]"Kamakura-dono no 13-nin", the currently airing jidaigeki featuring the Kamakura period. The previous day's episode depicted the final days of "Minamoto no Yoshitsune":https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minamoto_no_Yoshitsune. Despite his greatest contribution to the Genpei wars, he fell out with his brother "Kamakura-dono" Minamoto no Yoritomo, and was finally betrayed by his trusted ally and forced to commit seppuku. People rooted for this unfortunate loser, which came to be known as "Hougan-biiki" (favoritism to Hougan; as he had received the title Hougan.)
