これ昔からずっと気になっていたことだが、”能力者キャラクターの目が光る”というのを表現するとき何故日本は瞳(虹彩?)だけ光り、アメコミとかは目全体が発光するのだろう。どういう文化の違いでこう表現が分かれるのだろうか?これってトリビアになりませんか?

I've been wondering about this for quite a while now. I feel like when we do the "superpowered character has glowing eyes" trope, in Japan we mostly only make the pupil (or is it the iris?) glow, while in american comics and stuff they more often end up with the entire eye glowing. What kind of cultural differences led to this? It could be a fun thing to learn about.
