It can refer to Shinjuku Ward, one of the twenty-three special wards in Tokyo, or to the downtown district comprising the area surrounding Shinjuku Station, located at the southwest part of said ward. A vast labyrinth is located underground there, which may or may not bring despair to first-time visitors.
