Japari Park, Lucky-san (Gokoku Area)

With a wingspan of over 2 meters, the bald eagle is one of the larger species of eagles. They live close to seas and rivers, preying mostly on fish. The eagles have very good eyesight, allowing them to spot prey from several kilometers away. Compared to humans, their eyesight is said to be around 5 times better. Furthermore, by collecting branches on the tops of trees, bald eagles create nests that are said to be among the largest of all birds. There are records of a nest weighing over 2 tons. Large nests are often passed down from generation to generation. The bald eagle is among the strongest predators even among birds of prey, as well as a very territorial animal. At certain periods of time, they even attack people who approach their nests, sometimes even causing them to be hospitalized.
