At the bottom of the deep, deep sea, there was a castle decorated with colorful corals and shellfish. There lived a princess, the Little Mermaid.

Today was the Little Mermaid's birthday. She was allowed to visit the surface of the ocean for the first time.

The Little Mermaid was stunned by what she saw on the surface. "Oh, it's all so beautiful." She saw the Prince onboard a ship and fell in love at first sight.

Later that same ship was caught in a storm and sank. The Little Mermaid saved the Prince, who was washed up on shore.

However, when the Prince opened his eyes, a different princess happened to be there. "So you're the one who saved me?" The Prince mistook this princess for his savior and fell in love with her.

Mermaids aren't allowed to be seen by humans. The Little Mermaid was terribly sad she couldn't tell him the truth.
