What forms of friendships could blossom...

... in a 'military squadron' possessing great might...?

Should the defenseless human masses master such potential...

... then does the established balance of power in Gensokyo risk beign jeopardized...?!

Precisely.

No matter the species, if anyone with malicious or violent intent were to discover the power of Pokémon for their own...

... then they could indeed jeopardize the status quo in Gensokyo and spread violence and bloodshed in their trails.

For any such individuals, Pokémon could serve as weapons of immense potential.

At that, I arrive at the greater significance of this tournament:

"The administration of wandering souls in Gensokyo".

Gensokyo would know great peril, were Pokémon to wreak havoc in our world.

In short, I have organized this tournament to protect Gensokyo.
