This feather... could it be?

This is, undoubtedly, a Rainbow Wing.

Well, you certainly do have what it takes to face Ho-oh. But before anything else, there's something I'd like to share about the history of Ecruteak.

Ah

Then if I brought this to the Tower...

There was a time in Ecruteak when two Pokemon were worshipped at festivals as gods. Two towers were made for them to reside in, one in the East, and one in the West.

Lugia and Ho-oh...

The Brass Tower, and the Bell Tower...

However, 150 years ago the Brass Tower was struck by lightning and caught on fire.

During this time, Ho-oh was said to sympathize with the Pokemon who perished in the fire. As a god, it gained a different kind of status.

However, people who witnessed this tragedy came to fear Ho-oh.

After that, Lugia and Ho-oh disappeared, with nobody knowing why.

All that remained were the charred remains of the Brass Tower, and the memory of the events surrounding it,

while the Bell Tower stood as a historical monument with its ties to Pokemon.
