Media asset #1
But after the modern age's prohibition on openly carrying swords,
industrially-produced swords are totally different from those forged from iron smelted from Izumo black sand. Japan, being a volcanic island chain, had few and very poor iron deposits. Black sand is a basaltic volcanic sand that contains enough iron (in the form of magnetite) it can possibly be smelted into iron. This is why katanas had such elaborate forging techniques - it was to work the many, many impurities out of the "ore" sand that a better ore wouldn't have.
It's a Shinshu smith-forged sword.
How ya like 'dem apples?
That's it!
That story... I want one!
Hey, you're just cribbing my idea...
Then hurry up and go get one made.
Ah, I'd like to go and meet with Akashi to talk about it.
Recently, hasn't Akashi-chan been seen shutting herself in one of the arsenals?
The arsenal, hunh? Maybe I should take some time out to go see it.
... But it's difficult to get in without a good reason.
And there's an off-limits area, too.
I'm so jealous!
