私は長い間ずっと、静留となつきの事を心の中で思い続けてきました。
私は改めて二人のことを考えました。そして、私の絵の技術が私の心の中の気持ちを十分に表現出来るまで上達したと思って、この絵を描きました。
人が誰かのことを心から愛したり、心配に思う時、その気持ちは幸せと悲しみに満ちていると思います。

静なつは私にそのことを教えてくれました。それぞれの人は、それぞれ違った感情を持っています。お互いのことを理解するということが、人と人との心をつなぐ鍵だと私は思います。

There are many things I want to express upon this illustration.

My-HiME has revived my true self back not just about love but everything related to perception and many aspects I had been trying to ignore.
I could say that I would never be who I am right now if I hadn't watched this series and learnt from Shizuru and Natsuki's and other characters' compassionate. Now that I am able to recognize many wonderful people around me and someone who is special to me.

This illustration, I determined to give it as a gratitude. It has been long time that I kept this thought within me. I actually have tried to express this feeling through my old work many years ago, but it wasn't reach what I expected enough to depict it thoroughly. In this illustration, I want to explicit how important they are to me , as well as the scene in the story has already captured perfectly about how important of someone who is important for us.

At first, I thought of expression that both of them were sorrowful, but I don't think it was right. Because at that moment in the story, they have shared sentimental feelings to each other. Natsuki started to recover and comprehend about many things such as accepting the reality about her mother and the past. At the same time, Shizuru had a chance to spend time closely with Natsuki, to take care of her and see her recovering through the incident, though deep within her heart she knew about the prohibited love. Both of them were in the state of peaceful and happy in the moment. The sunset helped emphasizing the emotion and contrast between day and night time; happiness and despair, beginning and ending, companionship and solitude. Yet it's such a beautiful twilight when you behold it.

When you love and care about someone very much, it's full of happiness and melancholy. Each person has different such sensitivity, but understanding is a key to build the relationship.

Today is special and I think it's finally the right time for me to illustrate this. Thank you very much for everything.
