Battle of the Sibuyan Sea (October 23-24, 1944)

Yukikaze: "My torpedoes even hit... But all those flying enemies..!"

A battle in which the fleet took heavy damage from Allied planes while attempting to pass the Shibuyan sea on the way to attack the Allied forces in the Leyte gulf. Musashi was attacked by enemy planes and lost her speed and then again was damaged by torpedoes and other concentrated fire, so that only the upper part of her bow remained on the surface. The escort ships Kiyoshimo and Tone were trying their best to protect her, but their efforts were futile. Due to having flooding, Musashi's crew was evacuated and then the ship sunk.
