Battle of Midway (June 5 - June 7, 1942)

Yukikaze: "Akagi-san..."

A disastrous defeat, which can be attributed to overconfidence of the Japanese forces, resulted in a loss of 4 aviation carriers. By the time Yukikaze entered the battle, Akagi had already turned into a miserable sight, burning alone in the night and spewing sparkles like a torch. After seeing Nowaki, Maikaze, Arashi and Hagikaze come to save survivors form Akagi's crew, Yukikaze turned back to reunite with the rest of the fleet, only to learn that the MI Operation had been already cancelled.
