Japanese Rat Snake
Origin: Japan Full length: 100 to 150 cm Diet: Frozen mice or frozen quails, frogs and such Average starting cost of keeping, including equipment: Frogs can be caught in the wild
Surely there is no one who doesn't know this name. It is a snake that represents Japan. They are more brown than blue, but this is mainly due to sunburn; if they are raised as babies they will grow to a pale blue-green (in some cases).
In addition, the local population on Kunashiri Island is also known as the "Kunatsuri blue snake," and is prized among enthusiasts for its beautiful blue-green coloring, which means it is treated as a separate species.
The albino form of this snake is the source of the white snake belief, but it is actually yellow rather than white. They can be caught in trees, residential areas, rice fields, etc. They come especially from morning to afternoon to sunbathe on sunny rocky areas and in rice fields.
As they grow, they begin to like mice and other animals, but young snakes have a strong tendency to eat amphibians, so if you have captured one and it won't eat any food, it would be a good idea to try feeding it something like a Japanese tree frog.

    Reptigirls: Colubridae edition

Snakes can be kept in basically the same way, so this time I've included the care instructions as a bonus. There are a lot of photos and stuff, so if you don't like that, be careful. I'll say it again: if you don't like snakes swallowing things whole, please be careful.

When it comes to Colubridae, I like San Francisco, rough and kunashir. Ribbon and Asian vine snake are also good, but weird snakes are a pain.
