...I was privy to the summary of the Commander from HQ.

I found out that you were registered in the Army. And that you, as a normal human, were fighting against the Abyssal Ships. ...and the results of that too.

I can't fathom why you would still try to preach the importance of close combat despite all that... and why you would pick up somebody like me who raised her hand against a superior officer.

...it wouldn't exactly be accurate to call us normal human beings... oh well, let's leave that for now.

About the answer to your last question... I know how the situation was like of the naval base you were previously in. Of course you'd lose your cool in a place like that.

I too, had experiences of acting against my superiors back in my days. I can see my past self in you. I don't dislike your rebellious spirit, so cherish it with the best of your ability.

I know that close quarters combat is unfavourable for all of you. Of course it is better to defeat the enemy at range.

But, what are you going to do when the only possible option is to engage in close quarters? It is that edge situation that I am preparing you for. The reality will not change. To put it simply, the strategy will change based on the situation.

Teaching us these skills... Could it be that you are identifying us with your past subordinates?

...Wait, any more than that-

Don't get ahead of yourself. Still, I am not willing to let my subordinates and companions die pointlessly.

I will treat my past and current subordinates the same. Of course, I won't be treating you as mere weapons. The battlefield is not just filled with weapons. They can only be meaningful when held by soldiers.

...I'm a soldier myself, what I can teach you is limited. Nonetheless, I want all of you to learn survival and combat skills from me as much as you can.
