Media asset #1
Yokoza. 横座, literally sideways mat, is the seat of the master of a household, It is called this because the mat is laid out horizontally. This seat is considered a symbol of the head of the household, and no one may sit in this seat when the master is not present.
He was the one target that the Previous Generation Shrine Maiden could not eliminate.
He wore a black robe stained with soot and charcoal that emitted white flames and lightning... his name was known as the "Hyottoko of Black and White." Hyottoko (火男, literally "Fire Man") is a comedic character in Japanese mythology. He looks exactly like the mask that Yokoza wears. In some parts of north eastern Japan, Hyottoko is regarded as the god of fire. In other parts of Japan, he is considered as a symbol of good luck 白黒, literally black and white, could alternatively mean "good and evil".
Whenever he clashed with the Previous Generation Shrine Maiden, Gensokyo's barrier were shaken.
That girl... is she alright... eh?
Recently, there had been many instances where youkai and human "men" had fought Yokoza and all suffered serious injury.
Well... if we look at the current situation, it seems like they asked Reimu to solve the case and were attacked while investigating...
…Those "men" were actually tengu and dangerous men who were wanted in the Human Village...
Perhaps, there is a connection between that monk, the sacred mountain, and Yokoza...
If there even is a reason, it's either a "show of power" or "elimination of evil"... but I don't know our place in this at all.
Well, on the attack on the sacred mountain, Ran saved me... but I got separated from Youmu...
