Aside from her snacking on baux, she has confidence in her being able to keeping battle and her personal life separate. She very much admires her appearance and personality. When she catches her snacking, she stops, but since it's only a small amount, and it doesn't have any effect on the operation of the naval base, she thinks "If she can't put it into words, maybe there's some special circumstances behind it?"

Aside from the dignity-less things, as a superior officer, she has nothing to say. Winning the battle comes first, and so she has no intention on confessing to the admiral. Shipgirls often discuss their worries with her, and some of them involve their love for the admiral, so she thinks "If I, who has listened to this, were to confess my feelings to the admiral, wouldn't it be like I was betraying them or cheating?" Her reason for snacking is "Because the admiral prepared it for me." She's resigned herself in many ways, so she thinks she would probably be forgiven for just this.

I respect and admire you.

Please don't specifically say that.
