"Morning tea brings good fortune" Proverb; reflects ancient beliefs that having tea in the morning could prevent misfortune and bring good fortune. Sometimes rendered as ใ€Œๆœ่Œถใซใฏ็ฆใŒๅข—ใ™ใ€ .
... goes the saying. Green tea is good for health, and it is said to be of good omen.
Green tea comes in various types:
The most well known is sencha. Specifically, shincha, the first flush [harvest] of tea leaves, is the intended meaning here.
And then, after the sencha has been picked, comes the second flush, bancha.
Furthermore, by roasting bancha, you get houjicha.
And if you take steamed brown rice and roast it, then blend it with sencha or bancha, you end up with genmaicha. * sencha is rarely used for genmaicha; bancha is more common.
