Wisdom of the Heart Sutra
"The youkai in front of the gate is reading a sutra she doesn't understand"
Gyate, gyate~♪
Zemutodoshu~♪
The quote paraphrases a saying in Japanese, "Children that live in front of a temple reading sutras they don't understand", referencing people's tendency to absorb things they're frequently exposed to even if they don't fully grasp their meaning. The first line she's chanting is part of a mantra which is believed by some to serve as an origin of the sutra (掲諦掲諦 gate gate, or "gone, gone"), the second is part of the description of the mantra in the sutra (是無等等呪 'nuttara-mantro, or "an unequaled mantra").
