Media asset #1
"Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" was just a theme.
Jekyll and Hyde are the avatars of good versus evil.
That's the type of main theme you want.
But Hyde isn't "evil".
He's just the "desire",
the "brutality",
the "instinct",
of Jekyll himself.
I read the book and had to verbally report its contextual meanings.
Surprisingly, it was an easy task and boringly predictable...
But this Broadway musical actress kept interjecting me at each point.
Oh, but doesn't Jekyll keep calling Hyde evil within the work itself?
He's accusing his "desire" to be "evil". Hyde is his name for it.
Conversely, even if we were to accept that Hyde is "evil", you can't say Jekyll is "good".
Jekyll created the transformation drug in the first place to swap "reason" with "desire"; he wanted to escape.
By drinking the concoction, Jekyll could lose himself to Hyde's id and could fulfill his every desire.
In other words, he's a "hyprocite".
"Though so profound a double-dealer, I was in no sense a hypocrite".
Jekyll wrote that in a letter himself.
"Both sides of me were in dead earnest; I was no more myself when I laid aside restraint and plunged in shame".
It's like an angel versus the devil... It's a wonderful theme.
Even an idiot could understand the real double meanings in this context.
Angel and the devil? Did that just fly into your head?
This isn't some kids' cartoon!
Did you read my report about Jekyll's flaws just so you could cherry pick through it and impose your self-righteous pandering, your ideals, and your morale lessons into the story?
Ah, now now... let's put this behind us for now...
How about a color for when he changes between forms?
We could have the scene change red, dark purple, and light green when it succeeds. And when it fails, when can have it stop on purple!
Red can be the instinct Hyde; Green can be the ideal Jekyll; Purple can be the middle ground between them.
...It might be interesting to approach the topic through color theory...
Purple is unacceptable!
It won't show up in an opera theater!!
Purple is the combination of red and blue!
There's no green in it!
