Hi everyone! I'm Jon Imparo, a Brazilian-based mixed-media artist.

A while ago, the amazing folks at Raremarq kindly invited me to be part of their regular week-long event, where they team up with different artists and list one new piece for auction every day for seven days!

It took me a while to put together what I wanted for this, but finally, starting today, you'll have the opportunity to bid on all these pieces. The first 3 are the ones you saw on our cover: Emma, Black Cat and Magik.

To kick things off, I chose this 11x17 piece, painted on a very special paper I've been enjoying a lot lately: hot-pressed Canson Montval. It has a very smooth surface that fits my techniques perfectly. As with pretty much all of my colored paintings, I used mostly acrylics and colored pencils, but in this one I also experimented a lot with a red ballpoint pen to build up the aggressive spread of her flames.
