I couldn’t wait for Lapis’ device to arrive- I invited her to tour my ship, and to have access to my screens so that she may research anything she desired. She never got as far as the system, but was rather enraptured by my organic collection, spending all the time she had to give going from specimen to specimen, asking me questions and studying each closely. She said she wished she had a ship like mine, to store all her things. I always thought life as a Lapis would be luxurious, complete freedom of movement, the highest class of laborers…and truly a marvel in design– but I see now. They are given no tools. No ship. Their form and rank is their gift- and they are given nothing extra, say for a fancy cubby back on homeworld. What they keep must be carried on their person. Perhaps I should get her a storage unit, as well… I’ll order an extra when I get a batch for the upcoming moonstones.

Peridot encouraged me to make a personal log. She can keep them on her gem and even record audio but I can’t do that so I’m carving this into a piece of wood I found. She said it helps her feel less alone or something.
I don’t remember how she tracks them. I guess I’ll just call this Log One.

Today Peridot took me to her ship! I knew she was different than the others, (like me)! But I couldn’t have ever imagined the extent. I think I may have found the most unique peridot ever made. Her ship is filled with countless wonders. She keeps living relics of dead planets- all being the last of their kinds. Her ship even smells organic, more like a damp forest than a gem residence. She even gave me some spare remnants of expired organics to use in my creations! She has this nest that she apparently “sleeps?” in. It’s covered in pink cushions and she keeps her best flowers there.
I’ve been in other dropships. They’re all pretty sparse and empty. Hers definitely breaks regulation. I can tell that a lot of her equipment was stolen. Or maybe, ordered under false pretenses. She’s so cool. I didn’t know Peridots could be so fun.
I’m embarrassed by my creations now… to think I could ever even stack up to someone like her…I wonder if she pretended to like them just to make me happy.
