When attacking the foothold of a negotiation, you do not aim for the inner citadel right away, but the moat and the wall. However, they are unlike the Tengu and Kappa's social structure.

They are a group of individual youkai of different species and genus. It may be common for fellow individuals with objectives to group together, but it is usually limited to the weak ones. A group of "strong ones" could be said to be unusual. Things that are joining them may be self-interest, fear — or even a sense of camaraderie.

But, by right, a single strong youkai has no need for comrades. The reason is because the individual, by itself, is already powerful.

If she's willing to listen, then all is well. If not...

Of course, we can forget all that if we can settle it smoothly. Seek for every possibility to have an interaction.

Even if the youkai has a sense of camaraderie, when it is time to show its true nature, the youkai will reconsider the worth of camaraderie and its own power. It will concern itself more than its comrades.
