This is what happens when you let drones infest a turret installation.

The drones have modified the installation using its power source normally slaved to generating ammo to construct a semi mobile seige station. Sprouting legs it to allows for mobility and redeployability; an ability not shared with the original object. Its most commonly found where the hive needs heavier defenders or establishing footholds for infestations. The large size weapon and ability to self repair makes the Mammoth more threatening than most Aracni and Lupis strains save for the Lupis Goliaths and Behemoths the infested MTAC and HAVs respectively.

The installed turret is a modified blaster designed for anti-infantry, unlike traditional blasters this has a far shorter range in favor of a widespread shotgun pattern able to mow down entire divisions of infantry quickly. It however suffers range and overheats quicker due to the modification.

Other turret variants have been known to be modified as well including an anti-vehicle blaster, a burst fire railgun, a breach railgun, and anti-air and artillery like missile turrets.
